How to finally get fit

When thinking about finally getting fit, finally getting back into that great shape that we once were, we often tend to think about all the things that we could take to finally get there. Another fitness program. A new diet. A new sport. A new coach. Whatever it may be.

Interestingly, we spend little time to ask ourselves: why are we not fit? Why haven’t we gotten into that routine that took us where we wanted to be?

If you have planned to get fit for a long time and you still haven’t taken the right action, you first have to go for three things:

1) Accept that the previous methods have been failing you.

2) Let go of the pain that comes with realising you have fallen off and wasted time. It’s done now, feel the pain & let it go.

3) Commit to finally getting it done, no matter what. Right that commitment down, sign it. “I, Martin, commit to getting into the shape I always wanted to be. I commit to doing the work even when it’s tough.” It’s a commitment you do to yourself and you are the only one that cares enough to follow through when things get tough again.

Now, with a fresh mind and a strong commitment to getting it done, seek out the help of professionals. Seek someone or something, that takes your training seriously, so you can learn from them how you can take it more seriously. And then, stack session on session and feel the rewards.
